Pulls real-time water level data and station listings directly from NOAA's Tides and Currents API. You get two tools: one to fetch current observed water levels for any NOAA station, and another to list all available tide prediction stations with their IDs. It's part of the Pipeworx gateway ecosystem, so you can either use it standalone or access it alongside 673+ other data sources through their unified gateway. Useful when you're building coastal monitoring dashboards, maritime route planning tools, or anything that needs live tidal data without rolling your own NOAA API client. Supports the ask_pipeworx natural language interface if you want to skip manual tool calls.
Tides MCP — NOAA Tides and Currents data
Part of Pipeworx — an MCP gateway connecting AI agents to 673+ live data sources.
| Tool | Description |
|---|---|
get_water_levels | Get the latest observed water level for a NOAA station. |
list_stations | List all NOAA tide prediction stations with their IDs and names. |
Add to your MCP client (Claude Desktop, Cursor, Windsurf, etc.):
{
"mcpServers": {
"tides": {
"url": "https://gateway.pipeworx.io/tides/mcp"
}
}
}
Or connect to the full Pipeworx gateway for access to all 673+ data sources:
{
"mcpServers": {
"pipeworx": {
"url": "https://gateway.pipeworx.io/mcp"
}
}
}
Instead of calling tools directly, you can ask questions in plain English:
ask_pipeworx({ question: "your question about Tides data" })
The gateway picks the right tool and fills the arguments automatically.
