A straightforward wrapper around Yahoo Finance for pulling current stock quotes. You pass it a ticker symbol and get back the essentials: price, volume, market cap, 52-week range, and percentage changes. The script outputs structured JSON that you can format however you want, and it flags notable moves above 2%. Everything runs in Eastern Time, which matters for market hours context. It's built on yfinance and works with uv or standard Python. Not fancy, just reliable stock data when someone asks "what's Apple trading at" or wants a quick snapshot of any publicly traded company.
