This is Byzantine fault-tolerant consensus for coordinating multiple Claude instances. You get five consensus strategies (Byzantine, Raft, gossip, CRDT, quorum) and four topologies, from hierarchical queen-worker setups to full mesh networks. The hierarchical mode is explicitly designed to prevent drift during coding tasks, which is the honest reason you'd reach for this instead of just spawning agents manually. Best kept under 8 agents for practical coordination. It's overkill for solo work, but if you're actually running distributed multi-agent operations that need fault tolerance, the Raft consensus with hierarchical-mesh topology is where you'd start.
