You get 4-6 perspectives chosen to productively clash, not agree, then a synthesis that names the core tension rather than papering over it. Works best on questions with real trade-offs where your own frame might be limiting you. Can run quick 3-member councils or deep 6-member ones, anonymous mode to reduce bias, even multi-round debates. The insight is usually in what they disagree about, not where they converge.
