Summary
Takes a topic, runs web searches, fetches sources, synthesizes findings, and writes structured pages directly into your vault. Based on Karpathy's autoresearch pattern where a program.md file configures objectives and the loop iterates until depth is reached. You get wiki pages, not chat responses. The 1.8+ version is transport-aware (CLI, MCP, or filesystem), mode-aware (routes output to LYT MOCs, PARA resources, Zettelkasten IDs, or generic concepts), and includes web egress hygiene that strips script tags, escapes wikilinks in fetched HTML, and validates URLs to prevent internal network access. Expect around 45 WebFetch calls per deep run. Uses file locks to handle concurrent research sessions on overlapping topics. Optional boundary-first mode surfaces your vault's frontier pages as research candidates when invoked without a topic.
