Wraps WorldTimeAPI to give Claude access to timezone data without requiring authentication. Exposes a single tool, list_timezones, which returns all available IANA timezone strings. Part of the larger Pipeworx gateway ecosystem that connects to 250+ data sources. You can use it standalone for basic timezone queries or through the ask_pipeworx natural language interface that routes questions to the appropriate tool automatically. Useful when you need Claude to work with time conversions, scheduling across regions, or validating timezone identifiers. Works over streamable HTTP, so no local installation required.
Timezone MCP — wraps timeapi.io (free, no auth)
Part of Pipeworx — an MCP gateway connecting AI agents to 673+ live data sources.
| Tool | Description |
|---|---|
list_timezones | List all 590+ IANA timezone strings available from timeapi.io. |
Add to your MCP client (Claude Desktop, Cursor, Windsurf, etc.):
{
"mcpServers": {
"timezone": {
"url": "https://gateway.pipeworx.io/timezone/mcp"
}
}
}
Or connect to the full Pipeworx gateway for access to all 673+ data sources:
{
"mcpServers": {
"pipeworx": {
"url": "https://gateway.pipeworx.io/mcp"
}
}
}
Instead of calling tools directly, you can ask questions in plain English:
ask_pipeworx({ question: "your question about Timezone data" })
The gateway picks the right tool and fills the arguments automatically.
