Wraps the Mozilla Public Suffix List with four straightforward tools: parse a domain into its subdomain, registrable domain, and public suffix components, or extract just the suffix or registrable portion. The list is cached for 24 hours, so you're not hitting Mozilla on every call. Useful when you're building URL parsers, cookie scope validators, or anything that needs to distinguish example.co.uk from co.uk without maintaining your own eTLD ruleset. Part of the Pipeworx gateway, which bundles 250+ data sources behind a single MCP endpoint. Runs over streamable HTTP, so no local process needed.
Public Suffix List MCP.
Part of Pipeworx — an MCP gateway connecting AI agents to 673+ live data sources.
| Tool | Description |
|---|---|
parse | Split a domain into (subdomain, registrable_domain, public_suffix). |
public_suffix | Just the public suffix. |
registrable_domain | Domain + nearest suffix (the "site"). |
list_version | Last refresh + rule count. |
Add to your MCP client (Claude Desktop, Cursor, Windsurf, etc.):
{
"mcpServers": {
"public-suffix-list": {
"url": "https://gateway.pipeworx.io/public-suffix-list/mcp"
}
}
}
Or connect to the full Pipeworx gateway for access to all 673+ data sources:
{
"mcpServers": {
"pipeworx": {
"url": "https://gateway.pipeworx.io/mcp"
}
}
}
Instead of calling tools directly, you can ask questions in plain English:
ask_pipeworx({ question: "your question about Public Suffix List data" })
The gateway picks the right tool and fills the arguments automatically.
