Gives Claude authenticated access to your private GitHub repositories and organization data through OAuth. You get six core tools: list and inspect repos (including private ones), pull issues and PRs with their metadata, enumerate your org memberships and roles, and fetch raw file contents by path. It runs as a hosted service through Pipeworx's gateway, so there's no local setup or token management. Useful when you need Claude to audit internal codebases, triage issues across private repos, or pull documentation from non-public sources without copy-pasting credentials into config files.
GitHub Private MCP Pack — access private repos, org data via OAuth.
Part of Pipeworx — an MCP gateway connecting AI agents to 673+ live data sources.

Add to your MCP client (Claude Desktop, Cursor, Windsurf, etc.):
{
"mcpServers": {
"github_private": {
"url": "https://gateway.pipeworx.io/github_private/mcp"
}
}
}
Or connect to the full Pipeworx gateway for access to all 673+ data sources:
{
"mcpServers": {
"pipeworx": {
"url": "https://gateway.pipeworx.io/mcp"
}
}
}
Instead of calling tools directly, you can ask questions in plain English:
ask_pipeworx({ question: "your question about Github_private data" })
The gateway picks the right tool and fills the arguments automatically.
